Thanks to 1550's for excellent food and service for our second annual
Island4x4.com Anniversary party!

2003, What a Start!

Ringing in a new year with a great group of friends...

Cam's rosy cheeks...guess someone found the button. Hee hee...

Wow, it's already March 10th, 2003. Phew, well this year is certainly blazing away fast isn't it...

I've been incredibly busy with web site updates, events, meetings, organizing and planning future events, and getting prepared for changes on the site.

Sometimes I have a hard time remembering what happened 5 minutes ago, never mind yesterday or last week or month. I swear some people must think I'm a complete air-head at times, but it's just simply an overtaxed mind.

Between my work and Island4x4, there isn't much left to life except getting out on the weekends to do what I enjoy the most...4wheeling (Truck maintenance, what's that? Oh well...I'll get into that more later on)!

The Message Board in particular has been taking up a lot of my time lately, and I'm working towards correcting that. I still have a big push on right now to improve the message board, and the site as a whole, but the volunteers are making things a lot easier for me. Soon I hope to be able to spend more time on my trucks and less time running the message board.

The projects are starting to pile up, and I'm starting to feel like my mentor (Peter Gamble, arctic/ocean sciences technician), in that I may need to be reincarnated to finish them all.

Despite being a little burnt out, and almost loosing a finger recently due to thinking about Island4x4 and other things instead of what I was doing at the time (on a vertical band-saw), the future is looking brighter.

Currently as I type this, I have just finished hand processing over 200 images for a group of reports. I have a bunch of experiences I wanted to share with you, and they will be released in the coming days.

The year started off with a bang. We had our second annual Island4x4 Anniversary Party celebrating our third year in existence.

The party was a lot of fun. We had a great dinner party at 1550's, and then some of us headed out to Bar Victoria for a little foolishness (designated drivers in attendance of course).

At the dinner party we gave away a whole bunch of door prizes, and had a 50/50 draw. The party tickets and 50/50 draw helped raise about $250 donated to the Greenlane Preservation Society.

I would like to thank all those who attended for a great time, 1550's for the awesome food and service, Lordco Auto Parts (Burnside) for donating door prizes (safety and maintenance stuff), and a special thanks to Vic Trans for their very generous coupons that we also gave away as door prizes.

It was so much fun I can't wait until next year!

Cara and Tim...I swear Cara has a camera radar sensor built into her brain. This is a pose for sure!

Fuzzy pictures is what you get when you ask someone else to take pictures of hot chicks for you...sheesh!

Chris and Leif seemingly enjoying themsleves...even though they had to sit next to Mike (Lister)

Monkey faces...and a Jimbo head

Long live the mullet man...Greg showing his colours...kind of looks like Cam is too (cheeks again)

Group shot...Tara and Danno left, Courtnee, Matt, Cody etc. right

Um...ya...ok...just trying to be cute I guess...sorry, didn't work!

Ya, you see...you can dress a Redape up, but ya can't take him out...no wonder my food tasted a little strange (just kidding)

Pleasantly...well, pleasantly something, but I can't see his hands so I...ah never mind...

Now, here we have Rosie scratching his head like a monkey, but more disturbing is the reflection in the mirror...what's with that?

Two Matts and a Shoey. Shoey doing what a Shoey does...

Meghan giving us a cutie face...amazing how women can pull that off even with a mouth full of food

Aaaack! Monkey calls are often heard at these events, and I think Keith and Rosie are the loudest

Sarah has a thing about cameras...couldn't get her this time...

...ahh haa! Success...it took this drunken monkey crawling on the floor and hiding behind the other chimps to get it, but I got it!
