Around 7pm Cara, Gina, Lori, Ian and I escaped to pick up the pictures, set up the display boards and judge the content of each teams submissions. When finished, we returned to the restaurant, put up the display boards and began the presentations of all the awards:

$200 to 1st place - Team E "Smooth Criminals"
$100 to 2nd place - Team A "Speedbumpers"
Most Lost (map book)- Team D "Dazed and Confused"
Most fragile pyramid (vitamins)- Team D "Dazed and Confused"
Jackass (plastic donkey)- Team B "Team Jackass"
Rubber Ducky - Dan Dahling
Funniest picture/biggest sacrifice (teapot) - Shane Hofer
Duct tape - Al Vandervelde, Ken Fraser, Wyatt Sabourin, Ian Ryan (for those that had carnage)
Siphon - Jay Kreiger (nearest to running out of fuel)
Pre-run fix-it (tool kit): Noel Manuel (front drive shaft not in at beginning of event)

Well, I didn't think we'd have that kind of turnout. 32 vehicles in total actually registered, and probably at least that many passengers if not more. A theoretical 65+ people in attendance!

When we (Gina, Lori, Cara and I) first started our meetings to make plans for this event, I wasn't convinced we'd have enough people show up to warrant making 6 teams. Once again, the enthusiasm of Island4x4.com and Island Rock Crawlers surprised and delighted us all.

Below are a list of the teams, their team names, and some memorable moments based on their disposable camera submissions. High school annual write up format seemed to work well, dontcha think…?

Team A: "The Speedbumpers" (running over bodies)
Memorables: prayers at the Rosary, running over their teammates, Nadine not liking the look of that pair of spare underwear (Eeewww!),

Team B: "Team Jackass" (Won the Jackass award)
Memorables: How did Fozzy get in that picture? Most scenic pictures of all teams, even though most of them were in the dark!

Team C: "Miner 49'ers" (team actually had a gold pan!)
Memorables: Parking at the Escalator Ranger Station (oh, my!), losing teammates: Jim says "Hey! Where'd everybody go??" , all are now official members of S.C.O.R.T. (Shopping Cart Off Road Team)

Team D: "Dazed and Confused" (no explanation necessary)
Memorables: Noel patents his Monkey Bumper, Jo's extra parts under the hood, wishing they had the map book BEFORE the event (he he), Can Opener, Andy gets stuck and needs a tug…DOWNHILL!

Team E: "Smooth Criminals" (Greg, Shane and Al get Frisked)
Memorables: RCMP and a pair of gloves, Chicken Dance at Kangaroo Rd??, Firehouse blues, Crack O' the Ass shot, wildlife extraordinaires.

Team F: "Captain Highliner's " (Ar, ye land lubbers, makes waves fer me boat!)
Memorables: prayers at God's Auto parts, Ian Ryan's hardcore carnage at Escalator (yeah, it was a hub cap), Michael gets a tug-o-neck, Rob B playing hide-n-seek under his truck, "Brian Webb?? Who is he, and what truck does he drive???"

Team G: "Team Jeep"
Memorables: even though not competing in the event, this team seemed to be able to get themselves lost in the first 15 minutes! Now that was impressive. All they had to do was take some pictures.
