Mode of Attack:

We set up each team based on a rough criteria: each team had to have an experienced wheeler, a newbie, a stock truck, a winch, an Island4x4.com member, and an IRC member at a minimum.

There were 6 different courses laid out, one team for each course. Teams would be doubling up on checkpoints, but it was designed that each team would be hitting a checkpoint at a different time. Each team had 3 trails/locations to cover before heading into town for Part 2 of the event: finding locations throughout Sooke, Langford, Colwood, and Metchosin. Start time was somewhere between 8:30am and 10am, depending on how organized/confused each team was. Teams were to be finished up, and making their way back to the Stationhouse Pub/Railside Grill by 5pm.

Objective:

Each team started with their first clue at the Western Foods start point, in riddle format. The riddle would lead the team to their second riddle, hidden somewhere on a certain, well-known trail…the second would lead to the third, and third to fourth, etc.
The riddles were NOT EASY. Even some of the most experienced and knowledgeable wheelers were stumped on a few of our colorful clues.
